1) Alex Decides To Quit Cooking!!

Alex is know for adoring tasty and well cooked food. Besides, this is why he decided to start writing cooking articles for the Guardian. He also wrote a book full of tasty recipes! So what's wrong?? ''Well, I didn't want to become a ''foodie'' and I realised this when a television station called me and asked me: Do you want to be the host of a cookery show?'' Don't forget that Alex had worked as a cooker for many years before meeting the other three guys that led to Franz Ferdinand.

2) Alex's Cure for lonely moments

Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos has admitted he's too embarrassed to tell The Cure that he listened to their music during his loneliest moments.

The Scottish rocker, who shares the bill with The Cure at the Shockwaves NME Big Gig tonight (Thursday), said he was delighted the goth band won the Godlike Geniuses award.

"I think in the 25 years they've been going, yeah they probably deserve it. I remember when I was a kid it was about the time that Disintegration was coming out, so things like Fascination Street - yep there were times in a lonely student bedsit that I played that song a few times," he said.

3)Alex Refuses To Leave His Old Apartment Building

FRANZ FERDINAND star ALEX KAPRANOS refuses to give up his tiny Glasgow, Scotland apartment - even though his longstanding girlfriend hates the place. The Take Me Out singer admits the bachelor pad he moved into long before his band made it big helps him come back down to earth with a bump after tours and recording sessions. 

He says, "I go back to that apartment, with the same furniture and the same books on the shelf, and imagine that none of this ever happened. I like to do that."  But his old place is ruining his romance with Fiery Furnaces singer Eleanor Friedberger - because she hates spending time there.  Kapranos tells Rolling Stone magazine, "She can't stand it. She says, 'Why are you still living there?'"
