Not quite 10 years after they ended, the 1990s are back: the bandsNine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction, whose clothing, attitudes and, by the way, music helped define the decade, plan to tour together later this year, Billboard reported. On the Nine Inch Nails Web sitenin.com, the group’s frontman, Trent Reznor, top, wrote that the musicians “decided to book a last run of shows across the globe this year.” (“Will it resonate in the marketplace?” he added. “Who knows. Are there big record label marketing dollars to convince you to attend? Nope.”) The bands performed together in the early years ofLollapalooza, the 1990s concert series, leading to a joint tour on which Jane’s Addiction, with Perry Farrell, above, broke up. (The band reunited in 1997, broke up again and then re-reunited in 2001.) No dates were announced for the 2009 tour.
