Emma Watson: Will She Play Marilyn Manson's Cinderella?

Sure Emma Watson might have confirmed her enrollment at Brown University this fall where she'll be reading a lot of literature, but we're still not quite sure if she'll be taking time away from playing coed to play Cinderella in Marilyn Manson's musical version of the fairytale.

According to a report in The Sun, the"Harry Potter" star would play the title character in the film produced by the 90s goth rocker. And much like Manson's music and aesthetic, the film would be a gothic retelling of the famous children's story. No word on if Manson will direct or write the screenplay for the flick.

If the rumors end up being true, Emma would get to show the world her singing talents as it would be an all-musical version of the story. When Hollywood Crush requested a comment from Emma's people about the rumor, they hadn't responded by press time.

Other than the "Harry Potter" films, Emma hasn't done many other movies, although her voice did appear in "The Tale of Despereaux" and she was in the 2007 TV movie, "Ballet Shoes." She recently landed a Burberry campaign and will be going to college later this year.

Emma would join a long history of actresses (and actors) playing the famous princess. In 1960, Jerry Lewis played his own version in "Cinderfella." Meanwhile for Rogers and Hammerstein's musical version of the story, Brandy, Julie Andrews and Lesley Ann Warren all played Cinderella. And, a version of the story which was adapted by famed fairytale writers, The Brothers Grimm, was featured as the plot for "Ever After."

What do you think about this role for Emma? And what do you think about the possiblity of her working with Marilyn Manson?
