The Killers Team Up With Ashes Of Louis XIV For Covers Album

The Killers' Brandon Flowers has told NME.COM that the band's plans for a covers album are moving along, with one track already nearing completion.

Last week, the singer – along with drummer
Ronnie Vanucci – explained how The Killers were gearing up to record an album of covers.

Speaking to
NME.COM in a video interview at The Killers' Hard Rock Calling headline show (June 26), which you can watch below now,Flowers revealed that the band have already been working on a track with members of Louis XIV, whom he added had recently split up.

"We've started a couple of songs,"
Flowers explained. "'One Night In Bangkok' [written by former ABBA members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson along with Tim Rice] is the first one. We were doing it withJason Hill from Louis XIV and Brian [Karscig]."

He added: "They've kind of broken up for now, I think - I don't know what's going on with them."

Flowers continued by saying the track features more than one lead vocal.

"
Jason would take the verse and me and Brian would sing the chorus. And Mark [Stoermer, Killers bassist] put a Killers interpretation on the bassline. I think it's pretty good."

The Killers have also introduced a cover of Fleet Foxes' 'He Doesn't Know Why' into their live sets recently.
