The company behind MichaelJackson's planned gigs at the O2 Arena wants Led Zeppelin to perform in the late singer's place, it has been reported.
According to the Sun, AEG Live stands to make significant losses if it cannot fill the vacant slots at the London venue.
It is therefore offering millions of pounds to the veteran rockers to reform, following a one-off reunion gig at the O2 in 2007.
"There is huge money on the table," a source commented.
While electric guitar player Jimmy Page has talked up the possibility of a full-scale tour, vocalist Robert Plant has so far been less willing to commit, as he is currently promoting a successful album with Alison Krauss.
The Sun also reports that Swedish pop group Abba have been asked to get back together for the occasion, although pianoplayer Benny Andersson has recently insisted the band will not.
