Who Said Old People Don't Care About Our Future?

Many of us claim that elders are indeferrent to recycling, saving water and generally living with respect to our planet. Who of these old men and women knew what deforestation, climate change, lack of drinkable water were? But it seems that some of these people are willing not only to learn about these matters, but also do something to help out...

Spiros Tilsizoglou, age 78 and his wife Sotiria, residents of Ano Ilioupoli, could be named ''The champions of recycling''! ''We throw away only one bag of garbage per week'' says mrs Sotiria. ''Just think how better things would be, if everyone was doing the same!'' adds''mr Spiros. ''We first learnt about garbage compost back in 1990, while on a trip in Australia. When the municipality of Starvroupoli announced that they were planning to give compost cans to residents, we decided to take part. You just can't imagine that fruit peels can become such a good fertilizer! Of course, we recycle as much as we can! Anyone can do something for his home!''
