The “player”,manufactured by students of the 1st Ptolemaida Lyceum In Greece is getting ready to participate in the World Olympic Games of Robotics(6-10 November) in Korea. The school presents with pride the creation of students at the kiosk of ministry of Education at the International Trading Exhibition in Thessalonica. The team, constituted by Dimitri Adamidis, Vasilis Papanontas, Dimitri Papadimitriou and Christos Papadopoulos, supervised by Zafeiroula Alexiadoy- was elected winner between 54 schools in the Pan-Hellenic competition. It's time for the Olympic Games now, where Greece participates for the first time. “Through the competition I get known with the world of robotics and learned how to collaborate with others. We will do our best,” says his schoolmate Christos Papadopoulos. This year, the contestants will be supposed to assemble the robot from zero, while they won't be allowed to use instructions or request help from their professors. The robot will have to cover a way with obstacles,reach the table of billiard, send four colourful balls into the correct reception, and return. The Greek robot needed 61 seconds to do all of this, however the students triy to program it better, so that it competes with Japan's, Norway's and other of 30 countries's robots.
