Spiros Calogirou Dead

The “villain” of the Greek cinema, actor Spyros Kalogirou breathed his last on Saturday. He was 87. He had been in hospital suffering from brain infection since early May. He was laid to rest on Monday morning in Markopoulo.

“The Greek art numbers a member less. From 1955 to 2003, when he appeared on his last movie, the best “villain” of the Greek cinema, Spyros Kalogirou gave us countless chances to remember his acting talent, his lines, his laughter. I want to express my most heartfelt condolences to his wife Evaggelia Samiotakis and his son, said Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis.
