On the Australian leg of his world tour, shock-rock icon Alice Cooper confirmed to down-under publication Undercover News that he will indeed be contributing his talents to the upcoming solo album from Guns N’ Roses guitar virtuoso Slash. The two have worked together several times in the past, and this time around the axe-god has added the veteran rocker to his developing lineup of guest performers. In the interview, Alice reported that he would perform a couple of songs for the record. “[Slash] is working with a bunch of lead singers,” he explained. “It is sort of a nice idea of Slash and Alice, Slash and Iggy, Slash and Meat Loaf or whoever is going to be on it. It is a great idea.”
This marks the latest of many collaborations between the two – Alice contributed vocals to GNR track “The Garden” from Use Your Illusion, and Slash played guitar on a couple of Alice's albums, including the track “Vengeance is Mine” from his most recent release Along Came a Spider.
In the same interview, Alice also revealed that he was writing songs for his next album, which is slated for release sometime next year. He also responded to the recent controversy surrounding his show being banned from Finland's Tampere Arena by officials of the area's conservative government.
“I didn't quite understand it,” he commented. “If I were doing Macbeth, would it be okay? Everybody would say Macbeth is fine. Well, Macbeth is about twice as bloody as anything I would do... I don't care. There is nothing in my show that can be banned, or I would have been banned all over the
